Categorization Algorithm

For this directory to be useful, every site needs to be appropriately categorized; that way, visitors can start at the top (Free Submission Directories), work through the 'paid for' directories, and end up with the 'referral-only' directories. This should help maximize benefit to the sites you submit, and minimize both cost and effort.

Each site is examined to see what a 'standard listing' is - not easy, as the term can mean so many things. Regardles of how the term may be used elsewhere, we define a standard listing as "Listing in the main body of a category" - in other words, there may be the occasional 'premium listing' above, but the site is not buried under sponsored, premium, reciprocal and other listings.

The algorithm then sees in which category the directory will appear, based on the conditions applied to a standard listing. For each question, if the answer is 'no', continue to next question, if yes, click on the arrow to visit the category.

Site Not Eligible

I'm sorry, your site is not going to be listed in this directory.

1. We no longer list sites that request a reciprocal link.

2. If you ask for any 'personal' details - even just an email address - then you need to say why; ideally, you should have a privacy policy, even if it's just a few lines.

3. Referral directories use javascript or other forms of indirect link; while there may be direct referrals from these directories, there is little or no SEO benefit in being listed in them. From an SEO point of view, a directory entry is a 'human recommendation'; without a direct link, that counts for nothing. There may be a few direct referrals, and there is value to these directories. But not SEO value.
