Open Directory
ODP is by far the largest human-edited directory, and provides a data 'dump' that is used by many other directories, including Google's. A listing gives the advantage of that Google mention as well as the accepted advantage of sharing in its high Google Page Rank. But ODP editors have no interest in SEO, and have their criteria for site assessment, as well as long waiting lists in some categories. Front page GPR=8
